Creative Fingers for Humanity - KATAKITA

Creative Fingers for Humanity

Creative Fingers, Impressed to reach out for humanity, A small gallery was built on the shores of Lake Sipin, Jambi City. The gallery will accommodate the paintings and various types of handicrafts of those who never give up.

The creative fingers of the blue and yellow crayon strokes alternately daub the overlay of the drawing paper. Occasionally Habibatul Fasihah (9) was silent to let his imagination wander. When the idea came back, his fingers moved steadily,

A rare disease Epidermolysis bullosa (EB) which continues to eat away at her organs as if it is not a barrier. Indeed, the little girl's growth showed abnormalities, said katakita.info

Habibah's fingers, both hands and feet, which were originally intact, were slowly covered with membranes. In the last two years, all those fingers and toes appear to be joined behind the membrane.

Habibah was not disturbed by his various physical limitations. He continues to work. That morning, he finished painting an underwater landscape that looked amazing.

Around him were dozens of paintings that were no less beautiful. Most of them are natural landscapes, from forests, rivers, lakes, to the beauty of the twilight and the rising of the sun. He recorded all the pictures from watching television shows.

According to Leni Haini, the mother, Habibah has been fond of drawing and coloring since the age of 5. Habibah was delighted when he received a package of gifts containing a drawing book, crayons and markers. Gifts from his mother's acquaintances were immediately used.

Almost every day he was lost in imagination. "Habibah wants the paintings to be donated to help with medical expenses for other children suffering from Epidermolysis bullosa like himself," said katakita.

Creative Fingers , Habibah's struggle to raise funds was apparently heard by Tanty Era Putri, a Jambi Province Creative Economy team who is also a volunteer for Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT). Heartbroken to help his little one, his team immediately moved to build a small gallery on the terrace of Leni's house which is located on the shores of Lake Sipin, Telanaipura, Jambi City.

In addition to paintings, the gallery will contain handicrafts from Leni and local residents who have been producing plaits from used newspapers and recycled waste crafts. In one corner of the gallery is used as a mini shop serving steeping bungur. "We call it Bungur coffee. It tastes exactly like coffee, but it is made from flower fruits, ”said telisik.

News, Creativity always lives in that house. According to Leni, it was economic limitations that triggered it. Apparently, the creative spirit continues to infect the people around the Lake Sipin area, Jambi City. They participate in producing various types of handicrafts.

Leni, a former international rowing athlete, initially chose to retire to care for Habibah, who was sick from birth. After growing up, the daughter asked her mother to build the school.

So, four years ago, Leni transformed the house inherited from his parents into a place for independent study groups for early childhood education (PAUD).

The presence of study groups actually attracted children's interest. In that village, many children come from poor families. Some of them cannot afford to go to school because their parents' daily income is only from working as vegetable transporting workers, cart workers, to collecting garbage at Angso Duo Market. Because he didn't need to leave the house, Habibah was able to study together in the PAUD.

Not wanting to bury his rowing world, Leni then founded a rowing school and a garbage bank. Children who want to learn to paddle pay only in rubbish.

Every Saturday morning, they row together while collecting trash in the lake. More or less these efforts support the Jambi City Government's program to make Lake Sipin a tourist area in the middle of the city.

According to Tanty, the ongoing construction of the gallery is expected to be utilized by the end of the year. The hope is that the gallery will not only accommodate Habibah's determination to donate his paintings, but also become a forum for the development of the creative economy in the region.
